This is nicely made, but there are some areas that are not entirely smooth/sanded on the ends. The packaging was also not that great. The adhesive on the plastic wrapping that was meant to protect it in transit was actually stuck on the end of the block, and being very, very tacky, it came off onto the surface of the wood, which could have been damaging if I'd left it in its original box until Christmas!

We decided to free up some counter space by storing our knives in a drawer instead. This is so classy looking, easy to use and truly space saving. You do have to have pretty deep drawers, but it really works great. I'd measure your drawers first, though, as it only fit in one of our drawers.
